Amakhala Game Reserve in located in the Greater Addo and Frontier Country area.  This malaria free reserve is only 45 mins drive from Port Elizabeth Airport.

The most common way to get to Amakhala Game Reserve is to travel by air to Port Elizabeth Airport, starting from either O.R. Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg or Cape Town International Airport (CPT) in Cape Town.  South Africa has quite a selection of airlines to choose from along these routes, and African Safari Group will be happy to assist with making your flight arrangements in conjunction with your stay at Amakhala.

You may also prefer a self-drive adventure from Cape Town, along the renowned Garden Route. This is the most interesting way to travel and travel time can range from three to five leisurely days while exploring the route’s hidden secrets like oyster tasting on a cruise at the Knysna Lagoon, or exploring the Tsitsikamma National Park on an exhilarating hike across the Suspension Bridge. During the Spring season, you can do whale watching by boat or from the shore at Plettenberg Bay.

Driving from Port Elizabeth Airport or surrounds
